Mark Hoffmann

Guitar League May meeting

 Date: Monday, May 7

 Location: The Clarion

 Time: 7:00 pm

Main Presenter:  Mark Hoffmann

Mark is gracing our stage with his third Guitar League presentation.  He was a presenter back during our first year in 2005.  If you have not heard Mark play, you are in for a real treat!  One of the best local and regional musicians, Mark has been on the central New York music scene for many years.  He has played in several bands; one of the most successful and entertaining is “Swing This”.  If you have not heard this group yet you should make plans to go to one of their shows.

While his playing is incredible, the other side of Mark Hoffmann is his ability to connect with other guitarists in a workshop setting and give of his years of experience and technique.  In his first presentation, Mark showed us a warm-up scale taught to him by his early mentor.  I have started using it with my students and it is one of the many gems I took away from that Guitar League evening. You are guaranteed to go home from this meeting with many new insights and tips.

 Rookies: Caz Ziezio (topic TBA)

 Minors: Bruce Wood (topic TBA)

Classical interest group: The classical guitar group may also be meeting. Ask at the meeting.
